Arrival in the morning at the Vajont Dam which is no longer in use, it was built between 1957 and 1960 in the territory of the municipality of Erto and Casso. It is sadly famous for the disaster of October 9, 1963, when a landslide on Mount Toc fell into the basin, causing it to overflow and flood the town of Longarone, in the province of Belluno, causing over 1900 victims. Guided visit to the dam and continuation to the villages of Erto and Casso, made famous thanks to the writer Mauro Corona. Then I arrive at Barcis Lake located in the heart of Valcellina. (STOP FOR LUNCH IN THE BAG). The lake is a stone’s throw from the Cellina Gorge Nature Reserve and the Prescudin Forest. Travel with the tourist train in the municipalities of Barcis and Andreis through the Strada Vecchia and the Forra del Cellina.
